Who is Aren?

Just a goofy kid from North pole, Alaska, and somehow i find myself in this city (L.A.) full of life, energy, and every kind of food, art, or entertainment anyone could ask for. I’ll admit i do get overwhelmed at times, and that’s when it’s time to stop, focus, reframe, check my settings, and click.

As a kid, it was always exciting picking up our developed photos from the photo lab. I loved growing up in that analog world, and i appreciate it even more now. Of course digital cameras have given me so much in the way of convenience, speed and freedom to shoot, play and edit. I bought my first mirrorless camera in 2017, and that’s when the real learning began. I started to really understand composition and light. It gave me a real sense of control, not just in how to capture a moment, but how to create it. Recently i’ve fallen in love with film photography all over again, and that’s taught me even more. It’s brought me back to that analog mentality, forced me to slow down and really focus on what i’m capturing, giving me a real connection to the subject. I think that’s what I love most about photography. the connection to the art we create, the stories that these images tell, and how they makes us feel.

I believe there’s a picture waiting to be taken in every moment. it only takes intuition, perspective, and action - a simple press of a button to capture it.
